A cool breeze in the midst of a hot sunny day; a slight drizzle mixed with mist as you drive towards the summit; a passing cloud which opens up a hidden peak; a double rainbow after a severe storm. This is what it felt like after a two-day Meditation gathering last weekend.
It was so refreshing – spirit awakening. The spiritual PATH is a long and solitary one. It is a marathon of life. From time to time these rest stations truly bring your breath back and restore the spirit to keep going. It also deepens the commitment and clarity, the purpose to be on this PATH. Also assures there are many Souls seeking the same Goal.
The PATH is simple but not easy. Day in and Day out, the world of matter dumps tons and tons of garbage. It takes work NOT to be distracted, to keep the focus and go deeper. It is very easy to give up and difficult to sustain. A courageous soul knows its PATH deep within. The inner glow leads it to unknown territory – an adventure of its own. The experiences are so unique that at times even sharing them can make you seem different and unacceptable. Yet the urge is so strong and the craving overtakes the fear of being left alone.
Left alone to be with only one Being -‘The GUIDE’ who holds your hand and helps you cross those steep ledges and vast crevices to reach the summit. HIS selfless acts help us cross the oceans and mountains to that unknown place which the mind can never comprehend. There are no milestones to measure the progress; there are no sign posts to tell you how much further to go. Will we even know when we reach there?!?!
Alas, what is this journey then? One can only find out by walking the PATH and experiencing it on their own.
