Life presents so many surprises. Chris is a Pod Cast producer. Most of his clients are major financial companies and individual entrepreneurs. Mostly business related. Time to time he will suggest some of the shows that had great impact on him . I am so glad he shared this specific one with me. I was so impressed and inspired after listening to Erik Townsend’s Macro Voice Podcast..AIA Part 1, that I had to write to Erik and convey my heart felt joy and happiness to find a human among the beast.
In Bhagavada Gita, Karma Yoga is defined as performing purposeful action and to the good of the multitude (Self-less). This is a spiritual life one takes upon to attain liberation. But even to start the life as a Karma Yogi one needs to pre-qualify. The following are some of the characters are to be inculcated – non-violence (Thoughts, Words and action), Honesty, Truthfulness, Integrity. But in today’s society this is a farfetched pathi
James Allen the English Mystic, simplifies it further. He identified humans are 3 category – Animal Man, Human Man and Divine Man. Animal man – the tendencies are survival and procreation, which seems to be the predominant way how this world operates. Self-centered and self-survival. The Human Man is a one who uses his intellect, reasoning, imagination. Lives in harmony co-operating and collaborating with other humans. He has more control over his mind and takes responsibility and self-leadership to define his life. Great Leaders who have brought harmony and peace among men. The Divine Man is one who has transcended the duality created by the mind, meaning he transcends the mind and exists as pure consciousness – Great Masters and Saints.
You hardly come across people with any taint of a Human Man with principles and moral, especially in a Business world. That’s what surprised me when I heard Erik narrate his story. Here is my email to him.
Time to time I tune into Pod cast shows that are produced by Chris. I am mostly drawn to philosophical and innovative ideas. But at times I do listen to financial advisory podcast as money is one of the essential resources to live on this planet. Coming from India we are taught to handle money with great care. Meaning not to mishandle it and to keep it where it belongs. There are certain things in life which money can NEVER buy. I respect people who have these values.
I also use to keep a distance from people who see money as the One and ONLY means to all their ends.
When I heard your show – AIA Part 1 truly I was shocked and horrified, at the same time deep in my heart did a “Namaste” when you listed your values to “Larry”.
I listed these for my own sake.
Deal with people with Honor and Trust:
1# Always leave room for the other guy to make profit.
2# Never negotiate selfishly, always focus collaboration. Finding a better deal for both parties.
3# Sometimes the highest profit come from what you give away for free.
A ray of hope and assurance. Still there are HUMANS among the predators disguised in human form. My idea of a Human – he never has to fear his own kind. He has the intellect, analytical and rationalizing skills that he can overcome any obstacle. As a community and race he flourishes and with his imagination, can co-create anything and everything! Anyone who does have these traits I watch myself as I know what it is I am dealing with.
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. Money can come and go. Not values.
You are not only an inspiration but a HUGE assurance and proof – you can still LIVE in middle of the jungle and BE a Human. Thank You Sir!
With Much Regards
If any of you have come across that will inspire and give us reassurance, please share it.
