This weekend Chris and I were visiting our friends in upstate New York. They also practice the same Sahaj Marg Meditation practice that we do. I always, always love the Catskills rolling mountains! So huge, open, endless – it just widens your heart as you drive. The huge farm lands were inspiring and made me feel close to home. On the way, we stopped by Black Horse farms and picked up some Buckwheat honey and a blueberry pie. They had SO many interesting things; if it was on the way home I would have picked up more 😉
After reaching our friends place we settled in and had a simple heartwarming dinner. Some of our discussions were about travelling in India, as both Dave and Sherry have done that a lot since 1973. To me, it is very interesting to hear a Westerner’s perspective of my land of origin. Then the topic somehow got into Christianity and Jesus. Sherry mentioned she recently saw the movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon. I was so thrilled to hear that name. A couple of months back when I was watching one of Wayne Dyer’s lectures, he mentioned Assisi and St. Francis. I wanted to see the movie. So we all sat and watched it.
What a SOUL. The simplicity and the purity of His Love for the Almighty (doesn’t matter what we label it) struck a deep chord in me. The Dream Prayer resonated so much with what we as a group are trying to do in Pause Your Life I wanted to share it with you all. I really thought it would be a great experience to watch this movie as group someday.
If you want to live life free, Take your time go slowly.
Do few things but do them well. Simple joys are holy…….
If you get a chance, take some time to read some of His poems and even watch the movie. It was very inspiring. As I saw Him struggle, I realized this path has never been easy for any of our predecessors, rich or poor, strong or weak, ignorant or intelligent – it really doesn’t matter.
It is the Soul with FAITH and COURAGE that makes its way back HOME.
